BADLAND Lyrics by simon a. (UK)

the show

2021

[Verse 1]
I just took an L upon entry
They were looking at me like sentries
I just tried to do what they told me
Only way I see this thing holding
Searching the badland for easy clout
I didn't think I'd get large amount
Tied into rings to get larger house
Copy cat things and they showed me how
[Pre-Chorus 1]
Complacent. You're compicit now
Placent. You're complicit
You're complacent, I could tell you how
This here figure you're chasing
Don't remain when everything's resolved
These here dreams you're facing
If my dream were human, it'd be gone
I'd chase all around but...
[Chorus]
It wasn't for you anyway, and I done told you anyway
If you had asked me anyway, I would have told you everything
She's got a boyfriend anyway. You'll find another one anywhere
They keep telling me there's fish here
But I ain't picking up anything
Yet
[Verse 2]
And you will get lost in the badland if you can't relate
The trends are set up and you back them or you're tardy mate
I feel the pressure to be 24/7 nice
I see myself more than my very own bed at night
Alone
Is it for me? Or for the watchers? Boy, I hope you're looking
You can see I'm doing this for your content
Looking to live my best so you think you are...
[Pre-Chorus 2]
Complacent. You're compicit now
Placent. You're complicit
You're complacent, I could tell you how
This here figure you're chasing
Don't remain when everything's resolved
This here love you're facing
If my love were human, it'd be gone
I'd chase all around but...
[Chorus]
It wasn't for you anyway, and I done told you anyway
If you had asked me anyway, I would have told you everything
She's got a boyfriend anyway. You'll find another one anywhere
They keep telling me there's fish here
But I ain't picking up anything
Yet
[Verse 3]
And I've been to places you won't go
I have seen things that you won't see
And I will show the children
I will keep them inside
They'll never be this high
Even looking looking back with red eyes
I've lost my pride
(looking)
And I'll chase all around
