Rest Lyrics by Slim Tyme

2022

[Verse 1]
Let me start by saying
You’re the king of kings and the holy one
Let me start by praying
Let your kingdom come
Let your will be done
Father take my stress
Come and give me breath so that I can rest
Father hold my hand
Through this crazy world
Lord I need your love
[Chorus]
Slow down
Can you take a second
Breathe out
Let his spirit fill you
Lay down
It only takes a moment
Hold now, rest now
Slow down
Can you take a second
Breathe out
Let his spirit fill you
Lay it down
He’s coming any moment
Hold now, rest now yeah yeah
[Interlude]
But they who wait for the lord
Shall renew their strength
They shall mount up with wings like eagles
They shall run and not be weary
They shall walk and not faint
[Verse 2]
One, two, three, four
Yeah he’s knocking at your door
Give your life to him
There is so much more he has in store
That he has in store ouuu
And he tells you yeaahhh
Take my yoke upon you
Learn from me
For I am gentle
Just call on me
Why don’t you call on me
[Pre-Chorus]
There’s only one master
His name is Jesus Christ
His yoke is really easy
His burden is so light
[Chorus]
Slow down
Can you take a second
Breathe out
Let his spirit fill you
Lay down
It only takes a moment
Hold now, rest now
Slow down
Can you take a second
Breathe out
Let his spirit fill you
Lay it down
He’s coming any moment
Hold now, rest now yeah yeah
[Outro]
Come to me
All who labor
And are heavy laden
And I will give you rest
