Date with the Devil Lyrics by Smackbound

20/20

2020

[Intro]
Burning, Burning, Burning
To ashes while you laugh
Burning, Burning, Burning
Without a chance to fight on my behalf
[Verse 1]
You wanna be the one in charge and let
All of the others obey orders
You gotta be the one who's breaking hearts
Just to make sure you won't get cornered
Your presence was a drug addicted to it
I wasn't able to afford it
And when you felt no longer gaining from me
You cut me cold like I was morbid
[Pre-Chorus]
Played with the devil
Fell to fire
Date with the devil burns
[Chorus]
Burning, Burning, Burning
To ashеs while you laugh
Burning, Burning, Burning
Without a chance to fight on my behalf
[Verse 2]
I should'vе known you were a criminal
Straight from the way you planted promise
Instead I bit the bait and swallowed whole
The legion of lies that made you flawless
You played me on with crooked chords
I sang along with no fear of being abolished
But then you hung me to the tree of love and
Watched how the layers self-demolished
[Chorus]
Burning, Burning, Burning
To ashes while you laugh
Burning, Burning, Burning
Without a chance to fight on my behalf
[Instrumental Break]
[Bridge]
Played with the devil
Fell to fire
Date with the devil burns
Played with the devil
Fell to fire
Date with the devil burns
Played with the devil
Fell to fire
Date with the devil burns
Played with the devil
Fell to fire
Date with the devil burns
[Chorus]
Burning, Burning, Burning
To ashes while you laugh
Burning, Burning, Burning
Without a chance to fight on my behalf
Burning, Burning, Burning
To ashes while you laugh
Burning, Burning, Burning
Without a chance to fight on my behalf
