We were never meant to be together Lyrics by Somberbloom

Life After Us

2022

[Verse 1]
I’m so tired, I can’t breathe
Since you left, I feel nothing
It’s so hard to set you free
You were the one I loved dearly
But I met your sisters, the three said I’m stupid
They showed me my future and you weren’t included
I was too stubborn and I made excuses
Thought I could keep you, if I didn’t admit that
[Chorus]
We were never meant to be together
This was never gonna be a fairytale
Even though I know that this is over
I can’t figure out why it still hurts like hеll
[Refrain]
Ah, ah
We were nеver meant to be together
Ah, ah
We were never meant to be together
[Verse 2]
Your winter heart, my empty chest
Maybe this was for the best
But years ago, when we first met
You took away my every breath
So how did we get here, could we have avoided
All of the fights and the fingers we pointed
I know I’m stubborn and I make excuses
So please just this once can we try to forget that
[Chorus]
We were never meant to be together
I knew this was never gonna turn out well
Now that I have said all of this out loud
Can somebody tell me why it hurts like hell
[Post-Chorus]
Ah, ah
We were never meant to be together
Ah, ah
We were never meant to be together
[Outro]
We were never meant to be together
We were never meant to be together
