I’m The Contingency Plan Lyrics by Spectrum the Originator

The Come Up (EP)

2023

People who suposed to have your back are the ones plotting behind it
Everybody's giving favors as long as they have leverage
See the envy in their heart it's getting harder to hide it
Actions speak louder than words I'm making sure you get the message
Burning bridges is what I do, I don't mind setting a hater on fire
Yeah I got nothing to lose, always got something to prove, hope you know that I will never retire
Cuz I'm on a mission to manifest this vision
I'm tryna beat the odds like cancer in remission
Based on every metric I should be dead or in prison
But I'm still here despite this fucked up world we live in
But I won't lose focus no I'm so close I can see it
If I gotta break down these walls with my fist so be it
I'm committed to this shit
No ring, but wait on it
No contingency plan, so there's no way that I don't make it
If only you understood what it took for me to be standing here
Cuz I've been through it all
Held the line I stood tall
None of my enemies don't stand a chance
I'm on my way
I gotta stop sounding like a liar
I told my parents by this time last year they'd be retired
I feel like I got the weight of the world on my shoulders
I was built for this yeah I can take the pressure
But I can't lie everyday seems to keep getting harder
Every decision I made end up being a failure
I'm running out of time the end is getting closer
But I don't understand why like I can't read letters
I'm turning every negative into a positive
Exposing my pain I'm a painter and a lyricist
They don't get the picture then let me be expositive
They argue who's the best the answer is definitive
Yeah it's me
I've be doing this shit, it's just me
Niggas came along and fell off, it's just me
Fuck being humble I know who I am and who I will be
I'm unstoppable and ready to receive everything meant for me
If only you understood what it took for me to be standing here
Cuz I've been through it all
Held the line I stood tall
None of my enemies don't stand a chance
I'm on my way
If only you understood what it took for me to be standing here
Cuz I've been through it all
Held the line I stood tall
None of my enemies don't stand a chance
I'm on my way
