Spier1200 ft. Iomos Marad and L.I.F.E. Long - “Scandalous Success”
[Emcee(s): Iomos Marad and L.I.F.E. Long]
[Producer(s): Spier1200]
[Verse 1: Iomos Marad]
The plan was devised before they brought us over here
Wicked man created laws to keep up living in fear
Having the upper hand, manipulating man, seize
And dominate control of this westernized land
Still the same today when I turn on my TV
From OJ to Tyson, Michael Jackson, and Kobe
Let me gain success. Now they fight stress
Their lives get dissected through the mental and pressed
Moral codes on both sides, it’s much more than a test. Indicted
On assumptions, already labeled “guilty”
Before the facts could even get examined properly, incar-
-ceration is a beautiful part of our economy. Even
Better for business when you’re a celebrity getting
Caught up in the mix through the traps and pits. Regard-
-less of your involvement in the glamour and glitz, you’re still
A slave in this, and justice is the use of a whip. What?
[Verse 2: L.I.F.E. Long]
What’s behind the lights
Camera? More than action, paparazzis and grills trying
To capture cover captions, taking pictures candid
Exposing what’s undercover, destroying the lives often
Secrets now discovered. It’s all a plan crafted to keep
Us behind. The camera snapshots reportedly
Shine. We’re took to photo labs, edit the footage
It’s a sabotage. Media plots ruining
Your image by digging up dirt to soil spoiling names
It’s hard to be in color with fame. Tabloids exposing
Your past to put you under. Televised lies
Revealing bleeps and blunders, diminished credibilities
To slander—look at Jayson Williams. Even Whitney Houston
And Bobby Brown fell victim. Journalists’ll even
Question your wife or children. It’s hard being on top ‘cause you’re
Targeted the minute you make the millions. Damn, yo
That’s the price of being a star, man
[Hook: L.I.F.E. Long and Iomos Marad]
Scandalous success, scandalous success
Y’all wasn’t checking when we was living check to check
Scandalous success, scandalous success, platinum
T Ford rims leaves the government unimpressed
Scandalous success, scandalous success. It’s
The truth behind riches leaving you stressed. Yo
Scandalous success, scandalous success. Fear not
Your own strength. Only God can bless
[Verse 3: Iomos Marad]
Ayyo
Scandalous success is when God seems to bless an
Athlete or artist with talent, then actions turn perverted
Believing they can fly, given the gift as genius. Grammy
Award-winning status, urinating on adolescents
Still gaining acceptance and dodging the consequence
Sporting a mask to hide their shame and blames the evidence, scandalous success
Soiled from victims having fame, there’s no resistance
[Verse 4: L.I.F.E. Long]
Ayyo
Keys to succeed: avoid the scandalous, be careful of your
Movements, be careful who to trust. In this business
Snakes walk like man, plotting to set you up with this
Evil plan. You could be on-point, then off-point
Everybody’s peeping you up inside the joint. Can’t go
Outside without seeing you televised
Everybody’s talking, made of rumors, constructed lies—that’s
Why I choose to stay on the low ‘cause too many
Looking in, peeping with them scandalous eyes
[Hook: L.I.F.E. Long and Iomos Marad]
Scandalous success, scandalous success
Y’all wasn’t checking when we was living check to check
Scandalous success, scandalous success, platinum
T Ford rims leaves the government unimpressed
Scandalous success, scandalous success. It’s
The truth behind riches leaving you stressed. Yo
Scandalous success, scandalous success. Fear not
Your own strength. Only God can bless
