Nightmare on May Eve (Dunwich pt. 1) Lyrics by Spiral Grave

Legacy of the Anointed

2021

What are you, Whateley?
If told would we believe?
So strange it seems you were conceived
A nightmare on May Eve
Explain the frenzied canine on the night that you were born
Heaven's saints preserve us, could it be that we were warned?
Up on the hill that night
While winds howled and blew
While fires burned so bright
What did your mother do?
Young Master Whateley
Growing up so fast
To see you it's so hard to think
Just fifteen yеars have passed
The Wizard would bе proud of you were he alive to see
Destiny fulfilled, you set your father free
On Candlemas when you were born
And all was said and done
Can we be so sure
You were the only one?
What is locked upstairs, as Dunwich sleeps so unaware
That you and Wizard tended for so long?
What if it breaks free, comes down for all to see?
Is that what you wanted all along?
What did Wizard say just before he passed away?
Secrets of the nightmare be unfurled
You're a special boy, what other son could know the joy
Of bringing father dear into the world?
Questions go unanswered
There are many more
The corpse of Wilbur Whateley
Dissolving on the floor
I see now he is not of Earth, from where I do not know
The task at hand so full of dread, I turn to go
Face this nightmare that awaits
Though I don't know how
Who will open father's door?
It's up to brother now
It's up to brother now
