Underdog Lyrics by SQR

2015

[Verse 1: Chayshaun]
Nothing special, nothing special
I'm nothing important
I tried to make it on my own but I couldn't afford it
I tried to run from the Truth, but I couldn't avoid it
That I don't have what it takes to be all that I wanted
But The Father sent His Son into the place He created
And He was humble and loving but got rejected and hated
And people looked the other way but it's their pain He was taking
He never sinned but He became it
For us, He was forsaken
I mean He was the Lowest of the Lowest
Small-town Troublemaker everybody noticed
Hated by the Jews, executed by the Romans
Buried in the grave, three days then He rose
He was the Underdog, unexpected, but He conquered everything
Undefeated, never beaten, even winning from the grave
Looking at this nobody, said "Do you want to be saved?"
Brought me up from nothing
So I made it cause He made a way
[Hook: SQR & Brandon Burdette]
Nobody could see me coming
Then He brought me from nothing to something
I wasn't in the running, now I'm gonna win
So you can tell 'em all as we're going in
I'm an Underdog!
You never stop me, you will never stop me
I'm an Underdog!
You don't know the real me, you don't know what I can be
I'm an Underdog!
You never stop me, you will never stop me
I'm an Underdog!
You don't know the real me, you don't know what I can be
[Verse 2: Torrential]
Dictionary definition has me lowest chance of winning
I knew that in the beginning, you won't see me in first
I see myself as competition, I just sin in repetition
I need remission or I'll be in a hearse
But when they saw me at the bottom with problems
I wasn't running after all the same goals they were
And then my Daddy stood me up and passed the cup
And now I'm gunning it, running it for the team of the Good Savior
I'm an underdog
Under weather and chilling under heaven
I see the skies above me, I'm just living like a peasant
I know I'm next to nothing till I'm in His Holy presence
Then I'm born of royal nature, shout out to the homie Kevin
Nothing special, nothing special, I'm nothing important
I tried to make it in the game but I wasn't imported
If they don't see Him in my guidelines
They'll see Him when they see the winning team is on the sidelines
[Hook: SQR & Brandon Burdette]
Nobody could see me coming
Then He brought me from nothing to something
I wasn't in the running, now I'm gonna win
So you can tell 'em all as we're going in
I'm an Underdog!
You never stop me, you will never stop me
I'm an Underdog!
You don't know the real me, you don't know what I can be
I'm an Underdog!
You never stop me, you will never stop me
I'm an Underdog!
You don't know the real me, you don't know what I can be
