Pretty Boy Summer Lyrics by Stevesaintjames

2021

[Verse 1]
Yeah it’s summertime
School’s already out of mind
But is it just me or is doing homework like doing time
I’d rather be at work in the studio busy spitting rhymes
But every time that I’m on the climb, they tell me “get in line”
‘Cause teachers think it’s a crime to be this fly
That’s why I love the summer- cause school is a different grind
Where the work is for the feds and it’s never for you and I
So that’s why I never cry when I finally say goodbyе
They disguise it all as a benеfit
Paying taxes for a prison camp- how the heck you defending it?
They just extend our sentences locked up inside their tenements
And then they charge us with contempt for naturally resenting it
Kids just wanna have fun… but schools don’t want us to
It’s screwing up their movement to ruin freedom and shackle humans
But now it’s summer, we don’t gotta bow to your influence
I’m cooling in the pool, ignore your rules, your school is stupid
For real though, I’m pursuing a degree in rapping. Why do I need to take precalculus? It seriously doesn’t make any sense…
[Verse 2]
Ho my brain hurts, teachers try to slight me
But now the school year's over, and they can’t hang with my speed
Just working on my net worth so in summer I’ll be icy
But can’t afford to skrrt skrrt, it’s just way too pricy
Ha (get it) Gas prices, am I right
StillI’m speeding to the site
Spitting heat till I ignite
Got these party rockers in the house, it’s going down tonight
So be ready for a fight
If you’re coming for our rights
Sun’s out, guns out, that’s my only motto
Walking through my hometown looking like a model
They’ve allowed some fun now hop into the auto
Speeding off and popping bottles, feeling like I won the lotto
Foot down on the throttle, we ain’t got no time to dawdle
Hop into the hostel, all escape this school debacle
Yeah my life’s a novel, everything I do: colossal
Teachers think they’re all apostles, we just think they’re always awful
[Verse 3]
My skin is burning but it’s better than returning
To that awful institution where they claim they’ve got us learning
But it’s nothing but a Turing Test
Inhumanely earning checks
What you jokers get away with more shocking than Murray’s death
Summer break- it is the best
School year’s got me unimpressed
Just wanna relax and rest
Teachers put me under stress
Sunshine got me feeling blessed
Make the most- my only quest
Cause in a couple months the pests will find a way to manifest
And every time we acquiesce
Starting when then they took recess
The school’s done nothing but repress our happiness
I attest
I’ll contest oppression with all the finesse that I possess
Cooler than Mt. Everest but school just got me too distressed
Me and the boys we all rebel against the ones that try to quell
Our cries to let us say farewell to that abominable cell
You know we never take an L, that’s why we haven’t been expelled
But we aren’t trapped under that spell, we know in summer we excel
[Outro]
Summer break- it is the best
School year’s got me unimpressed
Just wanna relax and rest
Teachers put me under stress
Sunshine got me feeling blessed
Make the most- my only quest
Cause in a couple months the pests will find a way to manifest
