Hold On Lyrics by STS x RDJ2

2022

[Verse]
Yo
If you have a hard time, it's gon be OK
It was never said that every day gon be your day but hold on
God don't give you nothing you can't handle
There's a devil out here burning both sides of the candle, just hold on
My man took a slug when he got in a fight
He said niggas get shot every day but he'll be alright
And that mentality itself, well it scares me to death
Reminiscing on the homies, it ain't too many left
Too many breaths been the last, ain't trying to live in the past
Hell, I'm rapping bout my blue sound likе [?]
Got an eight-year-old nephеw, and all the hopes I have
Don't mean shit if he sip by the half-full glass
Cause the racehorse class, they gon hate your ass
Cause you're Black, that's a fact, I ain't even need to rhyme that
I need it to stand out, I need you to stand up
I'm speaking of white folks that know what we go through
I know you don't know me, I know I don't know you
I know you don't owe me, well actually might do
My grandpop's grandpop, he had a grandpop too
Y'all do the mathematics, I'll do the February
By any means necessary
And uh... I had to stop writing cause I was running late for the protest
[Outro]
*Unintelligible chanting and speech*
Black lives matter! Black lives matter! Black lives matter! Black lives matter!
