Amanda Todd’s Story: Struggling, Bullying, Suicide, Self Harm Lyrics by Talk Islam

2014

This is dedicated to Amanda Todd who after years of bullying died from suicide on October 10 2012.
A girl who fell victim to pressure from teenage boys playing with a girls heart and emotions.
We have a solution.
Dear Amanda Todd,
I wish I could’ve told you this earlier..
But I found out too late.
It’s sad that you had to go. *frown*
You’ve taught us a lot and left us here with a lot to learn..
About ourselves and about each other.
You’ve also shown us that there is a lot of cruel people in this world..
And that some guys can be Big Jerks…
And what sometimes look like a little fun,
Can sometimes be pretty harmful.
But what I really wanted to say was…
You’ve taught us what we’re really worth..
We’re Worth More than we think!
And it’s really sad that you had to go for us to realise this.
But I don’t blame you at all…
I blame the people who teach us that we’re worthless..
The people who play with emotions for fun.
Who think it’s all a big game!
But what I really wanted to say…
You’ve taught us to be more careful with people.
Especially from those who take advantage of soft hearts!
This is why…
I also wanted to help…
I also want to teach people their worth…
I want to teach people How they can Never be taken for Granted!
I want women to know a way that no Bully will ever harm You!
I want women to know that we are more valuable to a man than…
…his car.
Yes…
His car…
… .Note… .
No, I’m not comparing cars.
This Is How…
Listen…
If I wanted to buy a car…
an expensive car.
Say a Ferrari *smile*
But I wasn’t ready to pay for it…
Should I expect the dealer to just hand me over the keys?
No?
What if I chatted to him over Facebook?
No?
What if I bought him dinner?
No?
What if I “promised” him that I was going to pay for it later?
No?
Because his car is valuable,
and he knows it’s worth.
I’d be dreaming to touch it let alone get a sneak peek.
Because without my signature of commitment.
The dealers going to think I’m a Troll!
And there’s millions of trolls…
Now, that if I wanted to buy a car…
What if I wanted a woman…
Which is like 10,00000000 times more valuable than a car!
Should I expect to get her by…
Chatting to her on Facebook?
No?
Buying her dinner?
No?
“Promising” her the world?
No!
Why?
Because, relationships are the most valuable thing ever!
And if he’s not ready to sign the dotted line,
Then no girl should be taking him seriously.
So…
Since we are worth more than cars!
Don’t give them Anything!
And I mean Nothing!
Not even a look *smile*
Make them sign it.
Because there’s millions of trolls!
And we will no longer be bullied!
#NoBullies
We understand the issue is a lot bigger than what can be solved in a short video, but this is our contribution insha’Allah (God willing) things get better.
Dear Amanda From Your Muslim Sister
