[Verse 1] So where’s your optimism when your god is missing And you’ve got to listen to who bought the system And they rot your vision, twist and stop your thinking Fixed odds are written so you walk their rhythm And you plot your living but they block your mission Like you ain’t shit, but you the matrix You the one with the gun but you’re patient You decide when you’re done when you run When you move, what you do, what you view What you use, if you win if you lose If you fib or the truth is produced When your lips start to move If you choose to be righteous or villainous A man that suppresses free thought what villain is He thought, so he is; breath, talk and feel it Fear not the realness of life Steer clear of the path filled with light [Verse 2] I used to only think in term of others Black mark on my life you can smell the burning rubber Then I learned, I discovered That the first worst thing is to hide under covers Put a mask on your face, lie and act like your great Try to stash all the pain, under piles of fake Feels worse than a disappointed mother Short term solution you can’t always use your putter right Poor execution, try to cut steak with a butter knife It just don’t work It just won’t work [Verse 3] I’m just doing what I want Doing what I need to do Inhibition long gone On my own time always taking the scenic route Like a road sign what you see is what you get I’m a bold line to make sure you read the text Get the code right if you’re trying to intercept Deeper meaning than what the people present Man I’ve been bleeding this pen dry Kicking back, feet in the sky Writing reasons to hide, and I can’t think of one yet Not a slice, not a piece of the pie Food for thought if you haven’t had lunch yet Live life, fly high like a jump jet Just don’t jump ship if you haven’t done shit Grab the oar and start to paddle when the drums hit If you’re on board and you battle, you’ve won it
