For Your Consideration Lyrics by Taylor Mitchell

For Your Consideration

2009

So grant me this favor, I'll come back later
I may not sing in tune, myself
I'll hold my tongue and shut my mouth
I'll bow to the sea and then to the South
But don't dare judge on what you think I'd do
Your clearest indication's far from true
I'll roll with the punches that you might give
Criticizing the way I live
And all the sin I'm writing
In my time
'Cause once I'm gone, hell, I won't look back
I'll leave you at home with the things you lack
Disappointing, I know
But it ain't my crime
So grant me this favor, I'll come back later
I may not sing in tune, myself
I'll hold my tongue and shut my mouth
I'll bow to the sea and then to the South
But don't dare judge on what you think I'd do
Your clearest indication's far from true
Oh, I can't wait for that telltale day
Jaws drop open and knees give way
Stating my terms
And drawing my lines
And you'll be something that I'll neglect
Unless you show me the same respect
You afford to wile away
So grant me this favor, I'll come back later
I may not sing in tune, myself
I'll hold my tongue and shut my mouth
I'll bow to the sea and then to the South
But don't dare judge on what you think I'd do
Your clearest indication's far from true
