always were Lyrics by thatcherblackwood

atharraich

2024

[Verse 1]
Always were, like you always were
It's the rote screen door on your front porch
Where you fell asleep on the tile floor
But you've unstrung all the breeching now
(Ooh-oh-oh)
[Verse 2]
Bite my tongue 'till it falls right off
It's the tailgate on that fane barbwire
Trace the windshield as we drove for miles
Spurn the solder on the backing line
And I swear I saw you standing at the edge
[Refrain]
And it was beautiful
And it was beautiful
And it was beautiful
And it was beautiful
[Chorus]
Forget it, forget it
The day is done
Forgеt it, forget it
You saved it once
I gеt it, I get it
You've frayed and rubbed
The velvet off your antlers
[Refrain]
And it was beautiful
And it was beautiful
[Chorus]
Forget it, forget it
The day is done
Forget it, forget it
You saved it once
I get it, I get it
You've frayed and rubbed
The velvet off your antlers
(Ooh-oh-oh, oh-oh)
(Ooh-oh-oh)
