New Thing Lyrics by The Allergies

Promised Land

2021

[Intro]
Give me that new thing
Well, well, well, well
[Verse 1]
Tell me how long have been out on the run?
When did life become a blur?
Could you even name the place that you started from?
Can you remember who you were? (Come on)
[Pre-Chorus]
Or do you need reminding?
Of that ugly time when
Others redefined your role
So you started drifting
Into contradiction
And your spirit didn't grow (Come on)
[Chorus]
There is a new thing waiting for you
Don't hesitate, just get up and move
There is a new thing waiting for you (Waiting for you, yes)
Head to the top and take in the view (Aw yeah, here we go)
[Post-Chorus]
Hey, hey, hey
Oh-oh-oh (Hey)
Hey, hey, hey (Oh)
Oh-oh-oh (Come on)
[Verse 2]
You used to close your eyes and taste it on your tongue
You saw the colours in your mind
But all those vivid shades have faded into one (Into one)
And it never satisfies (Ooh, come on)
[Pre-Chorus]
You must get your some time (Yeah)
Chasing your desire (Yeah)
Will you hear the higher call?
'Cause you can get a message
Living on the edges
Where you're up against a wall (Come on)
[Chorus]
There is a new thing waiting for you (Waiting for you)
Don't hesitate, just get up and move (There is a new thing)
There is a new thing waiting for you (Yeah, waiting for you)
Head to the top and take in the view (Aw yeah, here we go)
[Post-Chorus]
Hey, hey, hey (Hey)
Oh-oh-oh (Oh)
Hey, hey, hey (Yeah)
Oh-oh-oh (Come on)
[Bridge]
The echoes remain
From songs that they sang
Will you let them haunt you?
Today is the day
So don't be afraid, to stand on up (Oh)
To stand on up
[Chorus]
There is a new thing waiting for you (There is a new thing waiting for you)
Don't hesitate, just get up and move (Oh, get up and move)
There is a new thing waiting for you (Aw yeah, waiting for you)
Head to the top and take in the view (Yeah, here we go)
[Post-Chorus]
Hey, hey, hey (Hey)
Oh-oh-oh (Oh yeah)
Hey, hey, hey (Hey)
Oh-oh-oh (Come on, ooh yeah)
[Post-Chorus]
Hey, hey, hey (Hey)
Oh-oh-oh (Oh)
Hey, hey, hey (Oh)
Oh-oh-oh (Aw yeah)
