Backing Up Lyrics by The Elwins

Play for Keeps

0

[Verse 1]
I did what I had to do
Felt bad, but I saw it through
Told you I couldn't go anymore
Now I sit behind a closed door
[Pre-Chorus]
I'm not sure of anything
I'm not sure at all
I can't tell just what I think
I'm not sure at all
[Chorus]
Everything's backing up
Frowning, rewind on the reel
Everything's backing up
Tryna' stop a rolling wheel
But I'm frozen, stuck in time
And there ain't nothin' I can do
Everything's backing up
Frowning, rewind on the reel
[Verse 2]
Sinking fast like a fallen stone
Diving deep from the place I've thrown
Should I float, or should I learn to swim?
In the light, but it all seems dim
[Pre-Chorus]
I'm not sure of anything
I'm not sure at all
I can't tell just what I think
I'm not sure at all
[Chorus]
Everything's backing up
Frowning, rewind on the reel
Everything's backing up
Tryna' stop a rolling wheel
But I'm frozen, stuck in time
And there ain't nothin' I can do
Everything's backing up
Frowning, rewind on the reel
Everything's backing up
Up, up, up, up, up, up
Everything's backing up
Up, up, up, up, up, up
[Bridge?]
Only time will tell
If I made the right choice
With decisions I voice
Broken hearts will mend
I think we'll both find love again
But will I be with you in the end, the end?
[Chorus]
Everything's backing up
Frowning, rewind on the reel
Everything's backing up
Tryna' stop a rolling wheel
But I'm frozen, stuck in time
And there ain't nothin' I can do
Everything's backing up
Frowning, rewind on the reel
Everything's backing up
Frowning, rewind on the reel
Everything's backing up
Tryna' stop a rolling wheel
But I'm frozen, stuck in time
And there ain't nothin' I can do
Everything's backing up
Frowning, rewind on the reel
Everything's backing up
Up, up, up, up, up, up
Everything's backing up
Up, up, up, up, up, up
[Outro]
I did what I had to do
Felt bad, but I saw it through
