Aftertaste Lyrics by The Forum

Illuminate

2017

Driveway self-pity
By the way, I hate this city
I hate the season, I miss the cold
I've got no reason to embrace the old
And I can't seem to shake the hold that this place has on me
Drive until the fuel runs out
I can't shake this aftertaste from my mouth
Until the fuel runs out
But I can't shake this aftertaste
The gasoline tastes gritty
Like spoiled cream, but looks so pretty
Like the danger in this place
Looking stranger than its face
But the sirens sing to me so I will
Drive until the fuel runs out
I can't shake this aftertaste from my mouth
Until the fuel runs out
I'll drive until the fuel runs out
I can't shake this aftertaste from my mouth
Until the fuel runs out
I'm stuck in the water, I'm trapped in a net
And I'm moving faster towards an active jet
Am I just dreaming of your hands on my neck
Or is that cold I feel a wave of my sweat?
And I'm still thinking of my latest bet
And of all of the people that I still haven't met
Am I just dreaming of your hands on my neck?
I can't be dreaming, that's your hand on my neck
And I can't shake your aftertase
Yeah
Drive until the fuel runs out, but I can't shake you from my mouth
Drive until the fuel runs out, but I can't shake you from my mouth
