I Got Excited Lyrics by The Pine Box Boys

Stab!

2006

[Verse 1]
Something keeps tapping on the window over there
The wind is blowing colder, we should learn a longer prayer
And as I dream about the girl I left down in the willow grove
The kettle starts to whistle on the stove
[Chorus]
I put my knife on it!
I got excited!
Somebody stop me
I want to bite it
God help me, Satan behind me
Dig another hole in the ground
And hang me for hanging around
[Verse 2]
Well you may think me wicked, but I'm not the only guy
You know there's plenty in this bar here done worser things than I
Considering the past of that girl you're hitting on
You'd better get your pistol out of pawn
[Chorus]
I put my knife on it!
I got excited!
Somebody stop me
I want to bite it
God help me, Satan behind me
Dig another hole in the ground
And hang me for hanging around
[Verse 3]
When I'm called upon to reckon, I'll beg the mercy of the Lord
Yeah, but every single thing I've done I did when I was bored
So let the wind take the skins, and let the sun bleach the bones
Let the river wash the blood off of the stones
[Chorus]
I put my knife on it!
I got excited!
Somebody stop me
I want to bite it
God help me, Satan behind me
Dig another hole in the ground
And hang me for hanging around
Yeah, and hang me for hanging around
