Convincing People Lyrics by Throbbing Gristle

20 Jazz Funk Greats

1979

[Verse 1]
There's never a way (There's never a way)
And there's never a day (And there's never a day)
To convince people (To convince people)
You can play their game (You can play their game)
You can say their name (You can say their name)
But won't convince people (But won't convince people)
[Chorus]
There's several ways (There's several ways)
And there's several ways (And there's several ways)
To convince people (To convince people)
Now you're people (Now you're people)
And we're people (And we're people)
We've got to be (We've got to be)
To convince people (To convince people)
[Bridge]
It's the name of the game (It's the name of the game)
It's the game of the name (It's the game of the name)
Convincing people (Convincing people)
Convincing people (Convincing people)
[Chorus]
Now there's several ways (Now there's several ways)
And there's several days (And there's several days)
To convince people (To convince people)
And there's several ways (And there's several ways)
And there's never a way (And there's never a way)
To convince people (To convince people)
[Verse 2]
There's one way though (There's one way though)
That you'll never convince people (That you'll never convince people)
And that's when you try (And that's when you try)
To be someone (To be someone)
Who's not telling (Who's not telling)
And who's trying to compel (And who's trying to compel)
Who is trying to tell you (Who is trying to tell you)
What you ought to be (What you ought to be)
Convinced of (Convinced of)
[Chorus]
So there's several ways (So there's several ways)
And there's several days (And there's several days)
To convince your people (To convince your people)
And you are the people (And you are the people)
V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V

[Chorus]
And there's never a way (And there's never a way)
And there's never a day (And there's never a day)
To convince people (To convince people)
There's several ways (There's several ways)
And there's several days (And there's several days)
We don't want to convince people (To convince people)
