Acrostic of Salvation (S to Z) Lyrics by Timothy Brindle

The Acrostic of Salvation: A Rhyming Soteriology for Kids

2022

[Intro]
We say amen
We say amen
Amen
[Verse 1]
SANCTIFICATION - our hearts, He's patiently changin'
God sets us apart from sin to praise and obey Him
We're no longer slaves to sin since the Lord has freed us
Now, the Holy Spirit makes us more and more like Jesus
TRANSFORMED is when the Lord changes what we want and love
This change begins in us when we're born again from God above
In Christ, the Holy Spirit changes us into His image
The work He started, yes, He promisеs that He will finish
UNION WITH CHRIST - God sees us in His Beloved Son
Joinеd to Christ - what He's done counts for us because we're one
In Christ, we have every single heavenly blessing
Yet we get Christ Himself, which is really the best thing! (Amen!)
[Chorus]
We say amen
We say amen
Amen
We say amen
We say amen
Amen
[Verse 2]
VICTORIOUS - since Christ conquered Satan, death, and sin
By faith in Jesus, God guarantees we get the win
Since Christ Himself secured our salvation in history
We're more than conquerors and faith is the victory!
WISDOM - God says that it's not just about being smart
But it's fearing Him with a holy, truly obedient heart
In Christ, we have God's wisdom - in Him, forever blessed
All knowledge is hidden in Christ - He is wisdom's treasure chest (Yes!)
(E)XPIATION - Israel had an atonement day
It's when the scapegoat carried the people's sin away
This pointed to how our Lord Jesus took away our sin
When He died on that cross, all our guilt was laid on Him (Hallelujah!)
[Chorus]
We say amen
We say amen
Amen
We say amen
We say amen
Amen
[Verse 3]
YES! In Christ, God's promises are Yes and Amen!
They're the same promises that He made to Abram
He'll be your God, circumcise your heart with His Spirit
Plus, the new heavens and the new earth, you'll inherit
ZERO - the amount of goodness that we own
To make us perfectly righteous before God's matchless throne
Zero - the number of saviors besides Christ
Zero - our sin debt since Jesus paid the price! (Right?)
Now that we've rapped the Acrostic of Salvation
I ask you: has Jesus saved you from sin, death, and Satan?
Now say, "Jesus, please cover me with your righteous robes!"
Then in Heaven, He'll give to you the brightest clothes!
[Chorus]
We say amen
We say amen
Amen
We say amen
We say amen
Amen
[Outro]
We say amen
We say amen
Amen
