So mom stocked up merch for the boys school clothes
We took a pic & a handshake
Then dipt through the landscape
Working on the album
Kept in touch through my fan page
I remember clearly having a bad day
Refreshing the cache & hearing from Kat Mae
That’s mom told me Rhune had a birthday &
That he spend his cash on my Kickstarter campaign
She wanna make sure that the shoutout's in his name
Unfortunately tho it's recorded & too late
I felt shitty tho made him a video
Tellin him that one day we’d hang out in his city tho
I sent him Slingshot before it was released
Just to show him I appreciate his generosity
I had Jordan do design add him onto the list
To send it off for print with his name on the disc
I forgot other names felt bad that I slipped
But thank God Rhune's name wasn’t one that I missed
A couple months later now I hear that he passed
A fatal car crash took his life in a flash
& now I’m sitting in a room putting pen to a pad
They buried him with my album & a bear from his Dad
I started thinking bout the way I would feel
The way I would deal if Finlay was the one who was killed
I’d probably never ever wanna get in fronta the wheel
And live my days in constant fear that life is something they steal
But hold on tighter you can stick to the promise
That when the day is the darkest Good Morning soon is upon us
Your boy will soar with the comets & be on stage as I rap this
You told me that he told you that he felt so impacted
He loved that in the music it was honest with passion
& that if you were hurting it could help you get passed it
But now you are the one who’s turning tragic to magic
Cuz when this life is it's saddest we still gon vibe with the tracklist
We’re better cuz you lived
Heart broken that you left
We could never forget you’re a part of the set
