Sont en Orient le Roy franceis
Alienor la Reyne
Jeune et grande en beaultë
Maints gentilshommes allyés
Croix rouge a l'espalle
A mener guerre aux damnés
En grande estoffe un cavalier
S'en vient a la Reyne
En son chef est planté
Un rameau de plant de genest
Que les fleurs en sainient
A mener guerre aux damnés
Ces fleurs de sanc que présaiger?
Mande Alienor au cavalier
C'est du genest de ton esté
De ton yver le sanc glacié
Tu renieras le Roy franceis
Il en aura haine
Pour l'Engleis marier
Tost luy feras mout héritiers
Qui se feront guerre;
Mener guerre est damné
L'un de Bretaigne aura Duché
Couronne dans Rennes
Blanc mantel herminé
Tel est d'un mariage forcé
Forcé par la guerre;
Mener guerre est damné
Viendra Joffroy les Bretons gaigner
Et paix férir en son Duché
Viendra ton Roy en ton Duché
Feu férir et te délaisser
Un air de dol soneurs sonez
Joffroy de Bretagne
En joute mort a croisé
Occi dans un tournoi franceis
Malheur en Bretaigne;
Guerre jouer est damné
Un air joeulx soneurs sonez
Fortune en Bretaigne
Arthur anuyt nous est né
Grande esperance en son Duché
Mais tost subira guerre;
Mener guerre est damné
Du Roy Engleis senz terre nommé
Arthur en embuche est tombé
Du Roy Engleis ardé par l'espee
Arthur en la Seyne est jeté
Alas! Alas! soneurs sonez
Dol est en Bretaigne
De son Prince noié
Arthur en sa sezisme annee
Sanglante est la Seyne
Mener guerre est damné
Yre et dol, soneurs sonez
Peine est en Bretaigne
De son Prince noié
Par son maudiltz oncle desvié;
Sanglante est la Seyne
Mener guerre est damné
