On The Eve Of The Rush Lyrics by Vallis Alps

Cleave

2022

[Verse 1]
Sentiment, all I had
I was down, paperweights on my back
Desert sand covering up my tracks
Oh, my brother, don't make all those plans
Sentiment left its mark
Got me spinning around in the dark
Swept the dust off my hands in the park
Oh, my brother, don't pull it apart
[Chorus]
Did I lose touch?
Or did I take too much?
Did I prove enough
On the eve of the rush?
Did I lose touch?
Or did I take too much?
Did I prove enough
On the eve of the rush?
[Verse 2]
Sentiment, all I had
I was down, paperweights on my back
Give it all to show you my trust or run out my luck, the time is up
Oh, I know I'm not above being not enough when I'm in the dust
Sentiment left its mark
Kept me spinning around in the dark
Building all the walls around us and filling my cup but only just
Oh, I know I'm not above being strong enough when I'm in the dust
[Chorus]
Did I lose touch?
Or did I take too much?
Did I prove enough
On the eve of the rush?
Did I lose touch?
Or did I take too much?
Did I prove enough
On the eve of the rush?
[Outro]
(Did I lose touch?)
(Or did I take too much?)
(Did I prove enough)
(On the eve of the rush?)
(Did I lose touch?)
(Or did I take too much?)
(Did I prove enough)
(On the eve of the rush?)
