True Love Never Fails Lyrics by Jonathan Butler

More Than Friends

1988

[Verse 1]
Then the road that lies behind you is full of pain
And the one ahead promises more of the same
Just take a look inside you, love is sure to save the day
If you fee as though your best is never enough
And you've finally reached the point of giving up
There's one more thing to try, guaranteed to help you get by
[Chorus 1]
True love never fails, you'd better believe it
True love never fails, no matter how tough life may be
Love has always worked for me
[Verse 2]
When everything around you is going wrong
And the feeling of despair seems much too strong
Just take a look inside you, love will help you carry on
If you'd searched your heart from the very start, it would be so clear
The solution to what you're going through has always been there
Life is hard enough, but love can make it so much easier
[Chorus 2]
True love never fails, true love never fails
True love never fails, no matter how tough life may be
Love has always worked for me
[Repeat Chorus 2]
[Bridge]
I know, 'cause I've been a victim of lies (I've been despised)
And I've had so much hate in my heart
I was touched from above
That's when I learned how to love, how to love...
[Sax Solo]
No matter how hard it may be
Love has always worked for me
[Repeat Chorus x2]
Hold on to the love, baby
There's gonna be a brighter day
Don't give up, don't give in
True love never fails
[Repeat Chorus]
