Illusional Absence of Essence Lyrics by Virtual Perish

Under the Influence

2022

We began with a promise we would fly
The path was clear and we could see heaven
The forest was dark, and full of beasts
The trail has cursed us all with burden
Will we ever see home again
Will we ever be free again
Where is our light
(From the depths of the earth see abominations rise!)
This darkness of night
(Feel them pull at your neck and the claws are gripping tight!)
Can we prevail
(Let the wisp lead us to the blight!)
Who will be thеre
(Demons of the past rеturn to fight!)
Our spirit has failed
(The call of rest we can't conceal!)
This illusion is real
(These magic banes deaden all we feel!)
The songs and tales of old no longer inspire
The treats of sweets and flesh won't tantalize
The feasts we prepare have turned to ash
We seek an end, cuz we can't come back
Will we ever see home again
Will we ever be free again
Will we ever feel again
Will this ever be real again
Where is our light
(From the depths of the earth see abominations rise!)
This darkness of night
(Feel them pull at your neck and the claws are gripping tight!)
Can we prevail
(Let the wisp lead us to the blight!)
Who will be there
(Demons of the past return to fight!)
Our spirit has failed
(The call of rest we can't conceal!)
This illusion is real
(These magic banes deaden all we feel!)
Deaden all we feel
Deaden all we feel
Deaden all we feel
Deaden all we feel
