Pour cette nouvelle interview, nous recevons Alex et Octa Gama les deux membres du groupe d’électro-dubstep : Skynoize.
Salut les gars, je vais vous laisser vous présenter.
Tout d’abord, l’aventure a commencée en février 2012, suite à la dissolution de Drilldozer (ndlr : ancien groupe d’Octa). J’ai voulu me lancer seul, dans un nouvel univers : celui du dubstep. J’ai été rejoint dans cette aventure par Alex, ancien guitariste de WATC et musicien accompli. Alex fut la personne idéale pour l’identification du groupe et la définition de l’univers de Skynoize.
Votre premier EP est sorti depuis maintenant 2 mois, vous pouvez nous le présenter ?
A la base prévu comme expérimentation musicale et de nature instrumentale, notre EP regroupe tous les bons ingrédients du glitchhop. Sur le morceau Légo, nous avons travaillé en collaboration avec le rappeur Locus, un rappeur de Nancy bien atypique. Aussi fou et passionné que l’univers de Skynoize, sa voix et son style ont su embellir une belle instrumentation glitchhop/8-bits qu’on avait composée pour l’occasion.
Il a rencontré pas mal de succès, comment ça s’est passé ?
Jokebox est sorti le 14 Février. En deux mois je crois que sur Soundcloud on a atteint les 55.000 écoutes..
60.000, selon les derniers chiffres..
Vous êtes mieux renseignés que nous apparemment (sourires). Le succès est venu assez vite, on a rapidement fait un bond dans les charts et deux de nos morceaux (Tribute et Arcadia) ont même été publiés sur le site Glitchhop.net, référence du genre. On en est assez fiers.
Cela fait maintenant un an que Skynoize existe..
Oui ça fait un an, pour l’occasion on a même réalisé un clip bonus pour notre EP, qui s’appelle Friends. En fait c’est plutôt une compilation de vidéos prise sur le fait, des vidéos lives, de soirées et même des vidéos de notre vie de tous les jours.
Vous bossez sur du neuf en ce moment ?
On va se diversifier, Jokebox c’est le premier de la série des « Numéro ». Un prochain EP devrait sortir d’ici Mai, dans un univers cette fois-ci, complètement différent.
Sinon plus prochainement, on peut annoncer la parution d’une exclu dans une compilation du label Château Bruyant.
