Enslaving beast for its own aggrandizement
Using it to lighten its own burden
It creates beauty from bricks and wood
Turning mere rocks into castles
Creating majestic towers that reach ever higher
Piercing the solemn skies of the crescent moon
It frees trees from the forest
Using them as fuel for the new world
It leaves the empires of old in ruins
Annihilating all it comes across in its wake
Demolishing mountains to expand its reach
And then leaves but scraps when done
But still the golden rays of the sun shine upon the world
Basking all of existence in a glorious light
And still rain falls down from heavens of grey
Corroding all that was built so arduously
Until eventually a sliver of green emerges amongst the soil
Slowly growing and slowly flourishing
And then another sliver emerges
And soon the world will be born anew
