Favorite Failure Lyrics by Whitney Bjerken

Mental Gymnastics

2024

[Verse 1]
What was the point
Of giving hope to something hopeless
Putting all my effort into something
That adds up into nothing anyone can notice
I feel there's more that I owe
To the person that I used to be
To the person who gave everything for this years ago
And it hurts to know she'll never feel complete
[Chorus]
Cause I just wanna make her proud of me
But if she saw me now I'd be a stranger
Giving up's not in me nature
Expectations I can't reach
Supposed to be the favorite player
But I'll end up the favorite failure
[Verse 2]
I wonder if I'll ever know
Which path I'm meant to be on
Cause right now everything's so fucking complicated
Been unmotivated for way too long
[Chorus]
Cause I just wanna make her proud of me
But if she saw me now I'd be a stranger
Giving up's not in me nature
Expectations I can't reach
Supposed to be the favorite player
But I'll end up the favorite…
[Bridge]
Well lookie here we found a diamond in the rough
She still shines when times are tough
But will she ever be enough
Cheers turn to laughter as you've overfilled her cup
Jewel into joke that's all washed up
Ain't it funny giving up
[Outro]
Cause I just wanna make her proud of me Hmm
