See or Shut Your Eyes Lyrics by Your Forgotten Love

Red Hands

2009

[Verse 1]
My first thought was, he lied in every word
Askance to watch the working of his lie
On mine
And mouth scarce able to afford
Suppression of the glee, that pursed and scored
Its edge, at one more...
[Chorus]
Better this present than past
Back therefore to my darkening path again
No sound, no sight as far as eye could strain
[Verse 2]
I turned from him, quiet as despair
Pausing to throw backward a last view
O'er the safe road
'Twas gone; grey plain all round
Nothing but plain to the horizon's bound
"See, or shut your eyes."
[Chorus]
Better this present than past
Back therefore to my darkening path again
No sound, no sight as far as eye could strain
[Bridge]
Desertus similis hiemalis foliorum
Similis ramorum nudorum vitae
Desertus similis occasorum
Arborum desertus frigidus et aberratus
Desertus similis hiemalis foliorum
[Chorus]
Better this present than past
Back therefore to my darkening path again
No sound, no sight as far as eye could strain
Better this present than past
Back therefore to my darkening path again
No sound, no sight as far as eye could strain
