"Petulant Rage" is the story of a journey, that winds through the chaos of self-discovery, heartbreak, and the quiet power of standing alone. It’s the sound of learning to let go when everything inside you still wants to hold on. It’s the quiet fury of realizing that, in the end, you can only ever truly rely on yourself. The title may evoke something sharp or fiery, but beneath the surface, there’s a tendеrness—a recognition that sometimеs, rage is just a form of grief, a way to reclaim what's been taken, and a testament to survival.
I started writing this album on my 19th birthday last year, and the very first song that I found myself the most comfortable starting with is the opening track "Metamorphosis". It was the beginning of a creative journey that took only two months to write all the lyrics for this album fully. For the first time, I had the pleasure of writing songs with two of my closest friends, which was a whole new experience for me. This album is not just a collection of songs, it’s a snapshot of a moment in time—one that’s messy, beautiful, and full of contradictions. From the sweet, unapologetic highs to the aching lows, each track is a piece of the puzzle that makes up my story. Some songs are cathartic anthems, others quiet reflections, but they all share one truth: the world will break you, but it will never define you.
"Petulant Rage" is a continuation of my previous album "Ephemera". While "Ephemera" explored the fragility of time, love, and self, "Petulant Rage" takes those ideas further, finalizing the messages I began to explore there. This album reflects the lessons I’ve learned, the pain I’ve endured, and the way I’ve fought my way back to myself. It’s about reclaiming my voice, my peace, and my identity. It’s messy and imperfect, just like life.
Through this album, I’ve found my voice and, in doing so, discovered a sense of strength that I never knew I had. "Petulant Rage" isn’t just a collection of songs; it’s a declaration of empowerment—a statement that, no matter the hurt, no matter the mess, I choose myself. These are the moments of transformation, of accepting the parts of myself that I used to hide. These are the songs of the mistakes, the lessons, and the love that has shaped me.
The journey is not perfect, and it doesn’t need to be. Sometimes, it’s not enough. Sometimes, it’s a little too much. But that’s what makes it real. So, I invite you to dive in, to feel the weight of every word, and to take from this album whatever it speaks to you. Whether it’s a bittersweet goodbye, a song of resilience, or simply a reminder that you’re not alone in your struggles—this is for you. For all of us who are learning to rise, even when we’re still catching our breath.
