Woke Lyrics by Zach Servis

Like It or Not

2017

[Isaiah Marshall]
I'm not here to be, you know, an advocate for hate. I'm here to be an advocate for peace. We've got to many people here in America who wanna make change, but can't make change for themselves. Why? It's just sickening Zj. That's why we have to do this. That's why I converged MO together. I wanna make change. I'm so sick. I am tired of our hip hop genre believing that hip hop wasn't to be a voice when it was. You know if you actually look up the true history behind hip hop it was actually to stop gang wars in general. By instead of killing each other physically we had to kill each other lyrically. It brought people together. I never knew that until a year ago. And I was like, that's actually pretty good. Why aren't we doing that anymore? Because, we fill our minds with this idea that we gotta have money, we gotta have the good looks, we gotta have the Jordans the newest ones we can find that actually look good. We gotta have this. You know it's this gimme gimme generation that we have in front of us and it's all because they keep listening to this "I got gold chains woo! woo!" Like c'mon! No! You ain't gotta have that stuff to look good. Shoot. I can rock a freaking suit, I can rock a t-shirt and some jeans. I don't care. Give me anything and I'll rock it I swear to God. But don't be coming to me talking about "oh I gotta have this ". No you don't. You know what you gotta have? A life. You know what you gotta have? Food on your table. You know what you gotta have? A future. Cuz if you don't have a future and you happening cuz I know you wanna go and mess around with other girls and you slip? I don't know what to tell you. Cuz you're gonna have a baby on your hands and you ain't gonna be able to do nothing cuz you just gonna sit there looking like Oh... See I could've done something, but I didn't do anything with my life. So, Gotta run. Then you looking at a deadbeat dad, freaking child support. If you don't pay child support that's jail. It's just your life is ruined at that point. It's just sickening

[Zj Mission]
But you know that's what we're here for. That's what we're here for. We're here to do something different, we're here to make a change. We're here to show them what the truth is; they can either take it or leave it. Cuz like I always say, you can choose to believe a lie, that don't make it the truth. That just makes you dumb, that just makes you deceived. That don't make you smart, that don't make you woke. Most of the "woke" people I see on social media every day got their heads up their butt. (That is the truth). They ain't woke up to nothing. They woke up and stuck their head up their butt. That's what they did. That's how woke they are. They ain't really looking out at what's going on. They think they woke. But they're not. They're not seeing the real truth. They see what the system puts out for them to see. And they feed into it and they take it like it's fact. And they cling to it. Unaware that what's really going on is destroying them. And people like us are out here trying to show them what's really going on behind the scenes and they're either gonna have to take it, and make a change, or they're gonna die the same way they came into this world with nothing different. Probably in a worse state than they came in. And they need people with a voice like us who'll actually get up instead of promoting what everyone gets paid millions of dollars to do. Why do you think that rappers get paid so much? Why do you think that entertainers get paid so much? The people who do the least for society get all the money because that's where the system can operate. They don't want the people like Martin Luther, they don't want the people like Ben Carson. They don't want the people who are really making a difference to get the money. That's why they criminalize pastors who have money whether they got it by good means or not. They don't care. They criticize them because they don't want the people who can really make a difference to have the means to do it. They want the people who are just gonna promote their agenda to have the money. They want the people who will promote something that has absolutely no effect on your life in a meaningful way. It's the system. And as long as they can control what you believe they can control how you live. They can take what they want. They can use you. You're pawns in the game you think you're playing. That's why I laugh when people say "I'm a player". No. You're getting played
