Perfect Lyrics by Zee (SA)

Lightwork

2020

[Verse]
I’ve realized that celebrities are unstable creatures
Built up to be these people that you’d love to meet em
I heard a story about Lindsey Lohan on a flight
Making sounds so loud that you didn’t have to see it
But they agreed that she was making love
Fame sure enough, makes you get away with things you wouldn’t have dreamed off and so we want
Everything including special treatment
Security procedures, That have to be kept as secret
And we have always told our mothers some story how we will make them proud
That fame and money is coming it’s just been making rounds
And we been patiently waiting at the back of the line
Waiting for that 30 seconds of fame so give it time
See at the moment my patience’s being put to the test
I shot my shot and I swear that my shit’s coming in wet
So I just gotta keep on, and trust the process
The things that make the most sense, are often usually noted
[Chorus]
Yeah That’s why I keep a journal on my person, and if you see me hurting
Just know that I deserve it
I mean, I ain’t perfect but lord knows that I try
And if you make my funeral please make sure that you cry
Cause I, I, I, I
I know that I ain’t perfect
I’m building something monumental that’s why I be working
And when it comes, always say that I deserve it
Cause lord knows I ain’t perfect nigga
Lord knows I ain’t perfect yeah
[Verse]
A bunch of strangers thought my music was cool, and so they bought me a house
Lined my pockets with money, and got me out of the south
Took me to North America, see what that was about
Brought me a lot of good change, which I’m figuring out
Yeah, things we hope to say that haven’t happened
You can blame a lot things but you can’t blame the talent
Maybe the stars were not aligned if we are being candid
Maybe you gotta own it first before you get to have it
Yeah, but all in all things have been going well
Things have gotten within my reach like the knights of the vale
Things have been changing for a nigga if you couldn’t tell
So all in all I’d have to say things have been going well
Spending nights with good friends with a bunch a refa
Bottle of vodka shared in Dubai with a new lit shesha
Hoping that it will be enough that the things we believe in
Will lead us to fame and money and their constant allegiance
[Chorus]
Yeah That’s why I keep a journal on my person, and if you see me hurting
Just know that I deserve it
I mean, I ain’t perfect but lord knows that I try
And if you make my funeral please make sure that you cry
Cause I, I, I, I
I know that I ain’t perfect
I’m building something monumental that’s why I be working
And when it comes, always say that I deserve it
Cause lord knows I ain’t perfect nigga
Lord knows I ain’t perfect yeah
