Where I Came From Lyrics by Aaron California

2021

I came from saving change from my paid lunch
To a prime example of a man who came up
You in the winners circle? I be on the same stuff
I won’t lie and tell you I ain’t took no pay cuts
Nah, ain’t here to sell you all them fake bluffs
Just here to fuck up anyone who’s rapping lame stuff
All of these fuck boys better hide when the day comes
So if that sounds like you then you should step your game up
I met your favorite rapper I’m like “hey homie
I got a toe tag with your namе on it
You dropped an album no one plays homie
I likе your beats hate how you came on em
No shit, maybe you should work on your flow kid
But don’t trip, oneday you’ll sound dope as my old shit
Like ‘06, Fort Knox, Voo & Chris Rose shit
Fuck around, end up with your throat slit
I might have leveled up and lost touch with some day 1’s
But I still ain’t forget where I came from
I might have leveled up and lost touch with some day 1’s
But I still ain’t forget where I came from
I still ain’t forgot where I came from
I ain’t forgot where I came from
I said I still ain’t forgot where I came from
I ain’t forgot where I came from
I came from shell casings in the gutter
Sometimes it makes me wonder how I kept from going under
Reciting ludacris verses with my brother
That’s word up to Korey we were like lightning and thunder
In the bay every single day looking for a way
To escape off to somewhere safe never be afraid
Keep my faith in some better days grind until I’m paid
I’ll make it no matter the price I have to pay
And that’s the truth let me tell you that the proofs in the puddin
Puttin in the work when they all said I couldn’t
Wouldn’t life be great if we all understood it
Instead I’m looking for an ass to put my foot in
Could be yours, better watch what you say bruh
I’m from Vallejo so you know I’m no lame punk
No matter where I go I won’t ever change up
It’s Aaron Cali and my name’s where I came from
I might have leveled up and lost touch with some day 1’s
But I still ain’t forget where I came from
I might have leveled up and lost touch with some day 1’s
But I still ain’t forget where I came from
I still ain’t forgot where I came from
I ain’t forgot where I came from
I said I still ain’t forgot where I came from
I ain’t forgot where I came from
