Your People Lyrics by Ben S Dixon

Oh Propitiation

0

[Instrumental Intro]
[Verse 1]
We lay down our idols
We don't want them any more
We lay down our idols
God, we reject their pull
Lay it down
We lay it down
They vie for the soul
But we reject their pull
We lay it down, lay it down
They vie for the soul
But we reject their pull
Praying to a thought that you created
Sacrificing to an object so vacant
Lifeless stones, man made thrones
Appraising creation
Over the One who created
[Pre-Chorus]
Oh, we turn away
Slaves we refuse to be
Devoted to You is all
That I want to be
All that I want to be
[Chorus]
And You will be
You will be our God
We will be Your people
Your chosen people
And You will be
You will be our God
We will be Your people
Your chosen people
[Verse 2]
And it vies for the soul
And it burns us like fuel
And it grows oh it grows
Until it destroys the soul
Destroys the soul
[Pre-Chorus]
Oh we turn away
Slaves we refuse to be
Devoted to You is all
That I want to be
All that I want to be
[Chorus]
And You will be
You will be our God
We will be Your people
Your chosen people
And You will be
You will be our God
We will be Your people
Your chosen people
[Post-Chorus]
We turn away everything
That exults itself above
The most high King
We Turn away everything
That exults itself above
The knowledge of the King
We lay it down
[Breakdown]
[Bridge]
Every idol that captures the heart
Every vice that holds on so tight
Every idol that captures the heart
Every vice that holds on so tight
Must be broken
[Chorus]
And You will be
You will be our God
We will be Your people
And You will be
You will be our God
We will be Your people
We will be Your people
We will be Your people
