Sweetwater, Pt. 1 Lyrics by Big Picture

Just Passin’ By...

1994

[Verse 1]
Someone said, "It's in the mountains!"
And in my heart, I felt a song
My way was the long one
But I held a map so I can't be wrong
And, oh, the air
It felt like age old wine
As I walked the path within my memory
The setting sun and the mustard fields
My dream, it sang a song to me
[Refrain]
And I feel one day that I'll find my place of gold
I'll close my eyes and let this vision come to me
[Pre-Chorus]
It keeps me at rest with myself
'Cause I can do anything here
To be free is what I want
Oh, I could comfort your fears
If you would
[Chorus]
Always love me
Always with me
On sweetwater come to me
Always hold me
Always see me
'Cause in my heart you would be free
[Verse 2]
I came across a flowing river
And kneeling gently on the strand
It seemed as though someone watched over me
But I didn't care and cupped my hands
"I've finally found what I was looking for!"
"This water tastes like wine!"
So I stood and said in the shadow of the mountains
I couldn't help but fall in love with this
River in my mind
It twists and turns in every part of me
[Refrain]
And I feel this day that I've found my place of gold
Don't close my eyes
Just let this vision come to me
[Pre-Chorus]
It keeps me at rest with myself
'Cause I can do anything here
To be free is what I want
Oh, I could comfort your fears
If you would
[Chorus]
Always love me
Always with me
On sweetwater come to me
Always hold me
Always see me
'Cause in my heart you would be free
