VERSE 1 The death of an artist is so weird I used to stand as a brand A man with no fear I used to hustle every day To achieve a dream That within my being Felt was so near But so far away And that was hard to take Somehow I knew It was something that I can't obtain I used to stand amongst Stars in the underground A different path Is why I can't seem to settle down Coz they've got families And they've been traveling And they were growing up, baby But I haven't been I'm just a man of the people Not above, but equal And for the grеater good I'll walk amongst the evil I hеard Cole say that And I was like "Me too!" Started doing shit that killed me To help the scene move And now it's so hard To get our shine, bro This Golden Era Should've had Purpose a long time ago HOOK They said "Don't forget me when you're famous" Like that ain't what the aim, is I'ma show you what this pain is Just don't forget about the pictures that I painted Now if I ain't ever famous And I ain't ever make it They said "Don't forget me when you're famous" Don't forget about the pictures that I painted VERSE 2 There's hell in these cells And I'll destroy Mankind I got more life, it's Fortnite Coz my camp, fire But I know This is why I'll end, dead Vision of losing my life For the gems in my head But I wanna show I'm an Iron Man, too And this 10 Ring circus Won't define me I got humility And the possibility Of fame or fortune Baby, I won't let it blind me I've been friend zoned By my friends, so I'm not getting everything I want in life And my ends low I know my journey's done And money won't buy happiness But I'd rather kill myself in a Benzo So pray for me And let me have the weekend Robin Will I'm just hanging here, until I meet death Tip-toeing I won't get hurt again Coz I know that Love is the real killer That's Kurt Cobain HOOK They said "Don't forget me when you're famous" Like that ain't what the aim, is I'ma show you what this pain is Just don't forget about the pictures that I painted Now if I ain't ever famous And I ain't ever make it They said "Don't forget me when you're famous" Don't forget about the pictures that I painted VERSE 3 I've done the rounds and I know this new to you Watch your back in this rap scene Coz she will neuter you Before you know it You'll be at your own funeral Placing flower baskets on the casket It's beautiful I've got a lot of pride That's lion-heart, a fine art I walk the road to success On pine back You see my path Where I'm starved Is something I'm 'bout to overcome You're done, when I start I changed my life So the man don't come for me And now The Streets say A grand don't come for free I was chillin with my team Cold company I'm not the man I once was What have they done to me So come and clown with me And share the memories Indulge in the positive vibes As they're shared with me I embody real Something that you'll never do Recovering alcoholic I'm 12 steps ahead of you HOOK They said "Don't forget me when you're famous" Like that ain't what the aim, is I'ma show you what this pain is Just don't forget about the pictures that I painted Now if I ain't ever famous And I ain't ever make it They said "Don't forget me when you're famous" Don't forget about the pictures that I painted
