Follow This Lonesome Wind Lyrics by Claybank

No Escape

2018

[Verse 1]
Thirteen years ago tonight
I looked at you for the first time
And I knew right away
I wanted you to be my bride
[Chorus]
When you looked into my eyes and said our love would always be
I didn't know that another man would take your love from me
And every lonely night that passes, my heart wanders back
To that warm clear night when I first met you
Your big brown eyes told me lies, you said our love was true
On that warm July morning when I heard you say I do
But it's clear now that it wasn't love, I was only your fool
So I'll follow this lonesome wind wherever it blows
[Verse 2]
Since those days have passed me by
I've grown accustomed to the pain
And it don't tear my heart apart
When I hear someone say your name
[Chorus]
Now the scars replace the pain that once filled my wounded heart
Everyday I try to bring myself to make a brand new start
And every lonely night that passes, my heart wanders back
To that warm clear night when I first met you
Your big brown eyes told me lies, you said our love was true
On that warm July morning when I heard you say I do
But it's clear now that it wasn't love, I was only your fool
So I'll follow this lonesome wind wherever it blows
Yes, I'll follow this lonesome wind wherever it blows
