First day I met this lecturer, Phil Ware
From that day on he took me under his wing, he really cared
Taught me everything he knew and a bit more
Wish I remembered it now but there's notes galore
We had a good relationship, even had a few qwerks
Him & my aide Danny went out of their way to help me with my work
Triеd to reassure me that it was upward and onward
Whеn the uni was closed didn't stop them, they took me to McDonalds
He passed away suddenly to cancer last year
Was a shock, he was one I still held pretty dear
If I had known best believe I would have sent a text
Now I'll never get to tell him what I'm doing next
After Danny left for NT along came John
He helped me a lot on my way to being gone
But like Phils passing reality was a kick to the gut
I'll admit I put off getting back into it and fell into a rut
It will be 3 years soon, still don't know what I wanna do
It really feels like a waste of money and time too
Back to Phil, this album wasn't mean't to be my story but he helped get me my crown
To be honest, it's hard to not feel like I'm letting him down

Phil, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you did for me
As emotional as it is I truly do feel lucky to have known you
And to his wife and son, Phil truly was a special man and thank you for allowing him to do what he did because he genuinely helped people, me included. I'll never forget my first interaction with him or what he taught me
Thanks Phil, rest in peace
