Welcome to the first episode of Oscar Takes On! For today’s episode I will be discussing the history of Apple
First, let me give you a little information about Apple. Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Cupertino, California, that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services. Steve Jobs co-founded Apple in his parents' house on April 1st, 1976. 44 years ago. Did you know that Applе originally had three co-founders. The third co-founder, a man namеd Ronald Wayne, had joined co-founders, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak (WAZ NE ACK) but he left the company only 12 days after it was founded. If you’re wondering why this company’s name is Apple, it’s because that was the favorite fruit of all three co-founders
Now I’m going to talk about their most successful product, the iPhone. Of course, all of their products are successful but this is the one used by the most people. The iPhone is a line of touchscreen-based smartphones that use Apple's iOS mobile operating system. The first-generation iPhone was announced on January 9, 2007. As of March 2020, more than 2.2 billion iPhones have been sold since the release of the original iPhone. Did you know that if you had the original iPhone in mint condition right now, it would be worth about $20,000. You could buy yourself a car with that money
Have you ever seen an Apple commercial before? Well, here’s a little fun fact. The time on their devices are always set to 9:41AM, and here’s why. The original iPhone was released at 9:41 AM, so they want the memory of the first iPhone release
Now I’ll be talking about the iPad
IPad, not to be confused with iPod is a line of tablet computers designed by Apple which run the iPadOS mobile operating system. The first iPad was released on April 3, 2010; the most recent iPad models are the seventh-generation iPad, released on September 25, 2019; the fifth-generation iPad mini, released on March 18, 2019; and the third-generation iPad Air, released on March 18, 2019. The user interface is built around the device's multi-touch screen, including a virtual keyboard. All iPads can connect using Wi-Fi; some models also have cellular connectivity. iPads can shoot video, take photos, play music, and perform Internet functions such as web-browsing and emailing. In 2012 Apple made the iPad Mini. Much smaller than the original iPad. In 2014, the iPad Air came out. The iPad Air is the thinnest and lightest iPad there is. So light, it feels like air. And finally we have the iPad Pro. The biggest iPad yet
You probably all know what iOS is. It’s the operating system all iPhones run on. No iOS, No iPhone. The latest release of iOS is iOS 13. The latest preview of iOS is iOS 14 Beta 5. Only Apple developers have access to iOS 14 betas right now. Apple developers are people who develop software, app developers, and podcast developers. iOS 14 will be available to the public later this year
