Bowl of Ramen Lyrics by J. TEK

Parkview Gardens

2021

[Verse 1]
I remember the ramen noodles for dinner
No heat in the winter
Momma told us the struggle make you a winner
See the Jakes hit the block like sprinters
Some of my dawgs fighting cases like a casualty
Now I see the judge ain't god moralities
I can’t let all these problems get the best of me
This right here is my reality, no fantasy
Can only give you what's real
I write these verses then I sign and seal
Some of my dawgs really still in the field
Running them corners like it's part of a drill
Still, I rise like Maya Angelou
If you’re feeling low, take the verses like the anecdote
Open up my closet, I got rid of all my skeletons
Everytime I grab a pen I treat these words like medicine
Yeah, treat these words like medicine
Demons knock and I can't let 'em in
I know I'm heaven sent
I know we heaven sent
[Chorus]
I remember the ramen noodles for dinner
I know now the struggle make you a winner
I remember no heat in the winter
I know now the struggle make you a winner
[Verse 2]
I remember just chillin' on afternoons
Momma called out my name to come in soon
We was cool and just sittin on forties porch
Only a kid but my nigga carry the torch
Hustle for bread, we can't be forever poor
I got faith, I'm ready for what's in store
Boots laced, I’m ready for any war
If it rains, I’ll always weather the storm
Yuh, always weather the storm
I'm ready for any war
We can’t be forever poor
We can't be forever
[Chorus]
I remember the ramen noodles for dinner
I know now the struggle make you a winner
I remember no heat in the winter
I know now the struggle make you a winner
