Circle of Life Lyrics by J. TEK

Midnight Sunset

2019

[Pre-Hook: Christian JaLon]
Circle of life
[Verse 1: J. Tek]
See I was born in 93'
Me, three other sisters, momma, poppa
All in two bedroom apartment
Parkview Gardens, 64th ave is where it started
Dreams of NFL, dreams slowly departed
Guns started to blast after hearing two niggas argue
Oh no, no witnesses pray to see tomorrow
Stuck in the struggle, with no time to live in sorrow
Put on a smile, even if that smile is borrowed
My adolescence was filled with stresses and constant pressure
Like not being shit and stuck in this mud forever
I opened a book and started writing my treasures
My pops was drinking daily, that's what you call pain and pleasure
He left home at 16 searching for better life
7 days and 6 nights, couldn't even catch a flight
From Ethiopia to Kenya, Kenya into the U.S
Praise God you survived, for that alone we are too blessed
[Hook 1: Christian JaLon]
You gotta trust God, in this circle love of life
No need to worry, it'll all be just fine
If you trust God, in this circle love of life
No need to worry, it'll all be just fine
[Verse 2: J. Tek]
I had a fan tell me that I saved his life
Said he was feeling down, my music helped him fly
His mom was fighting cancer
And here I am bitchin' bout some views on my youtube channel
I felt so ashamed
Losing my aim
Now who's to blame
Is it the hoes, chasing the dough or chasing the fame?
Could it be fear of possibly steering to broke again?
Or maybe fear of possibly losing my hope again?
[Hook 2: Christian JaLon]
Just trust God
Remember not to lean into your own understanding
Put it in the Lord's hands, cause he's got all the answers
Remember not to lean into your own understanding
Put it in the Lord's hands, cause he's got all the answers
That you need, all that you need, need yeah
