Casualties of War Lyrics by JS aka The Best

Weapon X Evolution

2016

VERSE 1
Most young kings get there head cut off
In a standoff, or they fall off
Lost some of my friends, to families and kids
The other half of em dead, or doing prison bids
Waking up with guilt, like it was my fault
Shoulda been my dead body on the asphalt
This ain't a dream, its just a bad reality
Damn its on me (but still im having)
Flashbacks, and throwbacks when it was all good
We was young and dumb, so misunderstood
Reminiscing is so dangerous
Now they treating you like you Famous
The more success i get, the more friends i lose
What would you choose
The hunger for more, just to get from rags to riches
Or stay yourself, and never burn any bridges
[Chorus]
In the event of my demise
Look up in the sky, I hope you recognize
The older I get the faster time flies
Another baby's born while another man dies
The realest conversations, about me I'm not around for
Can anybody hear me anymore
I know what battles to lose to win the war
Last man standing, Casualties of War
[Verse 2]
Slit my wrist sideways for attention, up and down for results
Taking my own life would be an insult
When Justo got killed, that bullet shoulda been for me
Murdered in cold blood, yellow tape around the oak tree
In a fishbowl, with my mental notes
Pressure is real, am I the scapegoat
Am I the problem or the solution
Can't be everything to everyone
A fan only blows when you hot
Watch out for them niggas always asking for a lot
I gotta move different from how I used to
Different perspective, different point of view
It was the worst of times, it was the best of times
So divine, I must have missed the sign
Some of these wounds will never heal
Now that BB King is gone, who's gonna take care of Lucille
[Chorus]
In the event of my demise
Look up in the sky, I hope you recognize
The older I get the faster time flies
Another baby's born while another man dies
The realest conversations, about me I'm not around for
Can anybody hear me anymore
I know what battles to lose to win the war
Last man standing, Casualties of War
[Outro]
Everybody want something from me
If it ain't my time, then its my money
I sit back, and reminisce
And wish we could go back to the beginning of shit
Last man standing, with everybody gone
No one to depend on
Not enough real friends alive to carry my casket
When im gone, cremate me and blow my ashes in the planet
