Tidal Wave Lyrics by Marcus Velazquez

Drought

0

Mom made love in summer
I sprung out in spring
End of an era, like eight - eight and nine
That's where I began
Night time, push and pull like my pen on paper
Marine moves by dusk's on looker as she sets up for her shift
Am I really moved by the push of another
I mean, I do move like liquid
I slide through the streets like crests and troughs
If I have to sleep with the fishes
Can it be with two at once on my birthday
Best way to drown if that’s my option
Or maybe I can grow gills

Night owl, make moves while the sun slumbers
Does the moon really shape my travel path
It doesn't hold weight, how could it
Or at least I think it doesn't
How does being born in a certain time frame dictate actions
Think about it
Take the mythos of the signs away
Imagine if some attempted to label you
"Depending on your birth month you have these characteristics"
Wouldn't that seem far-fetched

I like the colors blue and purple, writing, art, audio and visuals
Also always living in my head and psyching myself out
I fall into some of the traits and tropes
But doesn't everyone with broad statements
It has nothing to do with upbringing, socioeconomics, education
The surrounding area's infrastructure
Lessons learned, desires, wants, needs, both nature and nurture
Influences from family, friends, peers, teachers, professors
The general idea of the human condition,
Music, movies, films, shows, hobbies, interests
And an unthinkable plethora of other tangible things
It's just because I was born in march
Right
