In 1956, Jozsef Barsi leaves his home in Hungary
To flee from the Soviets invading the country
1976, he’s slapping hundred dollar bills down at an LA bar
He catches the eye of one Maria Virovacz
She fled from Hungary too
And ended up in California serving drinks
The next year, they’re already married
The year after that, June 6th, 1978
Their daughter Judith Eva Barsi is born
And Maria has an unrelenting dream
To turn her kid into a star
She teaches her manners, poise, etiquette, and professionalism
All in preparation for a moment in 1983
Maria takes Judith to a local skating rink
And there happens to be a camera crew there
Shooting a commercial
She was five years old but she was so small
They thought she was three
And just like that, she had a manager. (bang)
She does an ad for Donald Duck Orange Juice first
She does an ad for McDonald’s where she’s in outer space
She does an ad for Campbell’s Tomato Soup
That took so many takes
She never ate tomato soup again in her life
One for Lay’s, one for Jif, one for Rocky Road Cereal
KFC, Barbie, Kitten Chow, Fruit Wrinkles
A total of 72 commercial appearances
It wouldn’t be long before she upgraded
Her first TV role was in a miniseries called Fatal Vision
A dramatic retelling of the true story of Jeffrey MacDonald
A man convicted of viciously murdering his pregnant wife
And his five-year-old and two-year-old daughters
Judith kept getting roles and by 1985
She was making a hundred thousand dollars a year
Judith and Maria flourished
But Jozsef only became more jealous
And more violent

I wish that daddy'd stop shouting at mommy
I wish we could all live together

Jozsef’s first wife Klara
Had left their New York home in 1969
And took her two kids to Arizona
Jozsef, in a fit of drunken rage
Had thrown a cast-iron skillet at her
They were divorced soon after
And Jozsef moved to LA
As Judith grew more famous
Jozsef’s wrath turned to envy
Threatening Maria, saying that he would kill her
He would kill Judith
He would kill himself and Judith so she could suffer
Jozsef burns a letter about a funeral
From Maria’s family in Hungary so she won’t leave
Jozsef keeps drinking
He takes a frying pan
Screams and hurls it at Judith’s head
Hard enough to make her nose bleed
Judith gets so much attention at a party
That Jozsef takes her to the kitchen
Grabs her by the ponytail, and rips her to the ground
Christmas 1986. Maria calls the police
Saying Jozsef strangled her, but no evidence was found
The morning of July 25th 1988
Judith rides her bike around her block one last time
That night, Jozsef grabs his .32 caliber pistol
Puts it to Judith's head in her bed and pulls the trigger
After a brief struggle in the hallway
Maria is also shot once in the head
For two whole days
Jozsef wanders around the house alone with his thoughts
Tuesday night, answers a call from Judith’s agent
Saying he was about to move out
He just had to say goodbye
Wednesday morning, he’s pouring gasoline on the bodies
Trailing it down to the garage
Jozsef drops the canister down
Strikes a match
And puts the gun in his mouth

Judith and Maria are buried together in Forest Lawn Memorial Park
The location and condition of Jozsef's remains are unknown
