Mushroom Stew Lyrics by Musical Blades

Raise The Black

2017

[Verse 1]
When I was just a boy trynna' find a girl to wed
To share my hopes, my dream, my heart, and of course to share my bed
My father told me "Son, I have a secret just for you a recipe for a good life that has always run true. You see now there's a mushroom that grows deep in the woods for when your woman is no longer the girl you thought she was. It has a certain potency, I'll tell you what to do. Just serve your lovely lady a bowl of mushroom stew."
[Chorus]
Mushroom stew (Mushroom stew)
Oh, Mushroom stew (oh, mushroom stew)
Just serve her up a bowl of mushroom stew (mushroom stew)
Make the yellin' stop when your words just can't get through
Just serve her up a bowl of mushroom stew
[Verse 2]
Take my first wife for example
She died on accident, of course
She into a noose after she fell off that running horse
Rotten was the wood above and that branch broke in two
So to nurse her aching wounds, I fed her mushroom stew
[Chorus]
Mushroom stew (mushroom stew)
Oh, mushroom stew (oh, mushroom stew)
I served her up a bowl of mushroom stew (mushroom stew)
Make the naggin' stop when there's nothing left to do
Just serve her up a bowl of mushroom stew
[Verse 3]
Now I'll tell you about my second wife
Who for whom today I grieve
She got advice from her sister's fam and [?]
They said that she should take it all and leave me penniless and blue
So I filled up for the four of them a bowl of mushroom stew
[Chorus]
Mushroom stew (mushroom stew)
Oh, mushroom stew (oh, mushroom stew)
I served them up a bowl of mushroom stew (mushroom stew)
Make sure that your sisters eat up all their portions too
Just serve them up a bowl of mushroom stew
[Verse 4]
My third wife was the one who was beautiful and chaste
Everyone was glad to see her when we went most any place
One day I came to find out what chaste had meant to she
It meant that bloody whore slept with everyone but me
So to the ocean blue out for a little trip
I round her feet the anchor ropes, tied off along the ship
I know that may sound horrible but it's what I had to do
Cause' the little hussy wouldn't her bowl of mushroom stew
{Chorus]
Mushroom stew (mushroom stew)
Oh, mushroom stew (mushroom stew)
She wouldn't eat her bowl of mushroom stew (mushroom stew)
You'll sleep with Davie Jones, I mean you might as well do him too
Since you wouldn't eat your bowl of mushroom stew
[Bridge]
Now ladies don't you think that I'm excluding you
If your man has done you wrong, there is something you can do
Don't complain to mama, just bid that dog a due
Serve the heap a helping of the special mushroom stew
[Chorus]
Mushroom stew (Mushroom stew)
Oh, Mushroom stew (oh, mushroom stew)
Just serve him up a bowl of mushroom stew (mushroom stew)
I know your hungry wolf it down, that'll do pig, that'll do
Shut up and eat your bowl of mushroom stew
Mushroom stew (Mushroom stew)
Oh, Mushroom stew (oh, mushroom stew)
It's an answer to your problems through and through
There's always someone out there who you'd like to give some too
So keep this recipe for mushroom stew
