State of All Things Lyrics by Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics

State of All Things

2018

(Verse 1)
Lost tribes of our past
Lingering in waves
Silently but I can sense
Them rolling in their graves
They echo disdain
For how we've lost our way
The Earth in all her power
Shakes under the weight
Will those we leave behind
Learn from our mistakes
Or will they be the ones
To seal our fate?
Rocks turn to pebbles
Streams turn to stone
Strange how this life
Life picks & chooses
From its own
(Chorus)
In this state of all things
We keep believing
Love is that higher realm
That we are seeking
In the state of all things
We keep believing
One love, can guide our many journeys
(Verse 2)
The question remains
Do we move forward just the same?
What can we gain, what will maintain
From fighting over separate faiths?
Summer and winter
Waiting turn
Circling and longing for
True colors to emerge
And even trees evolve
Shedding leaves to show
That giving up the past
Can only make us grow
The moon and sun
They dance to their eternal song
And we in their wake
We hope, we pray
That all keeps spinning on
(Chorus)
In this state of all things
We keep believing
Love is that higher realm
That we are seeking
In the state of all things
We keep believing
One love, can guide our many journeys
(Bridge)
Sometimes
I ask why
And the fear
Likes flames
It rises
Last time
Forgot my pride
Laid down it
Down to die
This time
I look inside
To shift what's
There on the outside
Oo, and next time
I know the truth
The state of all this
Is good
One love can guide our many journeys
In this state of all things
Oh, In the state of all things yeah
Oh, we keep on believing
One love is all we need
