[Chorus]
Hey now, I'm bringing The Concept, I dunno how to start it
I keep the beat running like it's a motherfucking convict
I now know how to solve it, it's a little bit far-fetched
I'm running through your mind, trynna find out how to conquer it
Hey now, I'm bringing The Concept, from the pieces in my mind
You trynna get on top, I tell you please get in line
I got a pad that's full of lines and then some beats I put aside
You know I'm bringing The Concept, a piece of mind
[Verse 1]
It's been a little while since you heard of me
It's been a little quiet inadvertently
But now I gotta tеll you this with courtesy:
I'm motherfucking back, and that’s certainty
It's been a whilе coming, so you fuckers must be starving
Been waiting for so long, I'm reading lyrics from the carvings
Though, I'm never off-falling, I'm more so appalling
But now I'm scoring so high, that you could say that I'm ballin’
The Concept is a bundle of stories to make a package
From made up characters to stories about having
Troubles, overcoming, and stuff that'll get you laughing
Serious, unserious, love and back to savage
Where are all the features? I’m damn near all alone
So either they were scared, or they couldn't match my tone
Or they were laughing at the beats, or confused by the flow
Well now you missed your chance, guess you're too fucking slow- ho
[Chorus]
Hey now, I'm bringing The Concept, I dunno how to start it
I keep the beat running like it's a motherfucking convict
I now know how to solve it, it's a little bit far-fetched
I'm running through your mind, trynna find how to conquer it
Ayo, I'm bringing The Concept, from the pieces in my mind
You trynna get on top, I tell you please get in line
Got a pad that's full of lines and then some beats I put aside
You know I'm bringing The Concept, a piece of mind
[Verse 2]
Your favorite amateur, now he's back on the web
I gotta say sorry for the things that I said
I planned a release but I kept pushing it back
I almost made it seem like I didn't wanna rap
That is not the case, on the contrary
I was really lazy if I say so fairly
Starting a big project, it was also scary
But you know, I didn't let it get to me
So here I'm writing this with passion, got it flowing in my blood
I taught myself a lesson, that I can if I would
Try to have more sessions and I put down my foot
I wanna leave an impression, as a proud man I stood
My first live show, anxiety made me a wreck
But I said no, cause there’s no turning back
I jumped up on stage and I did my set
I showed them who's boss, just like I said
[Chorus (half)]
Hey now, I'm bringing The Concept, I dunno how to start it
I keep the beat running like it's a motherfucking convict
I now know how to solve it, it's a little bit far-fetched
I'm running through your mind, trynna find how to- WAIT
[Verse 3]
I gotta say a word about some legendary names
Without David Eff, I wouldn't have been the same
Davey H. too, they got rap in my brain
Along came Eminem, had to hear what he was sayin’
Then came Xzibit, MF DOOM and Masta Ace
Lamar, and Black Thought and D.O.C. deserve a place
El Da Sensei, WordsWorth, to the Big Daddy Kane
Nate Dogg and J Dilla, ‘cause kings forever stay
Three Times Dope and Stetsasonic, oh, and Opgezwolle too
Resa-P, Deliri0us, N.W.A. are wicked crews
Ms. Lauryn Hill and Coolio and Lil Wayne make me feel cool
Oh, and Ankh, you know you're dope, I ain't forgetting about you
You know I'm bringing The Concept, a piece of my mind
