My Hidden Plea Lyrics by Strange Philosophies

Back Porch Sessions

2022

You could hear my hidden plea
I said "I'm lonely, but solitude is something I need"
And you called my bluff
Said "well, that's tough luck 'cuz now you're stuck with me"
So we wondered through the woods
I said "I'm tired of not taking the chances I could"
And you told me "fine, just keep this in mind"
And asked me if I would
Stop relying
On the things
That hold me back
To secure me
From the opportunities
I know I'll get
And so you set me free
From my self-sabotaging tendencies
I let you down
You let me down
We let each other down in the end
When I took the bitter pill
As you let your bridges rust I burnt them all on the kill
I'm on a spree
You here with me
My hidden plea to be heard is what I need
I'm relying
On the things
That hold me back
To secure me
From the opportunities
I know I'll get
I'm relying
On the things
That hold me back
To secure me
From the opportunities
I know I'll get
I'm sorry I forgot you
I'm sorry I forgot you
I'm sorry
I'm sorry
(That's all I want to hear)
(I'd forgive you in an instant, dear)
(I know it's hard keeping tabs on everyone)
I'll stop relying
On the things
That hold me back
To secure me
From the opportunities
I know I'll get
I'll stop relying
On the things
That hold me back
To secure me
From the opportunities
I know I'll get
