The Bearded Pledge Lyrics by The Beards

The Beard Album

2014

I pledge my life and my family's lives
If I shave off this beard then take a knife to my wife
Take a gun to my son and my two beardless mums
You may slay me this day if I shave it away
I live my life as a bearded man
If you see me shave strike me down where I stand
I will try to comply and I'll never ask why
If I dare touch a hair may I never be spared
Yes!
I make this pledge
Yes yes yes
The bearded pledge
And by this growth I will take an oath
I swear I will go by the bearded code
Spread the word I'll be heard I will not be deterred
I'll be clear they will hear that I really like beards
Defend my beard in every situation
And I'll talk about beards in every conversation
I'll be loud I'll be proud I'll be always devout
If I'm not then you've got to have me killed on the spot
Whoa!
That's the bearded code
Whoa-oh-oh
The bearded code
And yes
I make this pledge
Yes yes yes
The bearded pledge
I proclaim from this day to live the bearded way
Have a beard all the time no matter what they say
Shake the hand of a man who's in a bearded band
I'll adhere all my years to having a beard
Hey!
That's the bearded way
And whoa-oh-oh
I'll live the bearded code
And yes
I will make this pledge
Yes yes yes
The bearded pledge
