[Verse one] The sun doesn't shine bright on Wednesdays Sleep grants you wishes, but it wasn't me All it took was one disapproval I'm sorry it wasn't mutual, but please hear me out I thought that we could be good friends But don't say "me too" because look what's been done You said I'm condescending and nobody special So how are you my friend if you just tear me down? [Chorus] All I ever wanted was to have someone to confide in But all I got was a stab in the back It wasn't just you, but all your girls too We were supposed to be bright, I didn't mean to make a fright At the end of the day, don't you say I didn't try To mend our hearts up, I guess this is goodbye I wish that you could see that this was your time [Verse two] I guess things do change, it's like I don't know you I pray you're doing well, though you're just a text away It hurts me so badly, I can't see how you're doing But I bet you're having fun with your new family I heard you're out of state ever since you got married Moving's a big deal, so I'll give it a year At least I don't have to worry about what kind of pain you're in 'Cause to be honest with you, I never walked a mile in your shoes [Chorus] All I ever wanted was to have someone to confide in But all I got was a stab in the back It wasn't just you, but all your girls too We were supposed to be bright, I didn't mean to make a fright At the end of the day, don't you say I didn't try To mend our hearts up, I guess this is goodbye I wish that you could see that this was your time [Outro] All I ever wanted was to have someone to confide in But all I got was a stab in the back It wasn't just you, but all your girls too We were supposed to be bright, I didn't mean to make a fright At the end of the day, don't you say I didn't try To mend our hearts up, I guess this is goodbye I wish that you could see that this was your time
